I was born and raised in Cordoba, Argentina. I am a PhD student at the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology starting my 4th year. I love to be in Madison (leaving behind days where sunset is before 5 pm) and I am having a great time being a part of the Knapp house community. My interests include traveling to wild and exotic places, and so I enjoy different types of outdoor activities as hiking, biking, camping and fishing. Being from Argentina is not a surprise that my main sport activity is playing soccer (I am a striving working man of the middle field). My hobbies include painting, some photography, reading but mainly collecting vinyl records of old and good prog rock (I do not play any instruments but I am a virtuoso listener!). I also enjoy meeting my friends and sharing as many laughs as I can with them. In the house my main activity is the fine art of grilling red meat in huge amounts, of course having along a generous glass of wine. This skill allowed me to conquer the souls of house fellows, particularly Moh Abed and Jackie Vinson that were easy preys. Vegetarian habits put Stacey as my top challenge.
My main research interest is to analyze how humans modify the landscape pattern altering the ecological processes at different scales, and then to develop management options and strategies that allow human development while sustaining the biodiversity and ecosystems of a region. My work is strongly based on GIS analysis and landscape ecology, and I am focused on the invasion of exotic plants in forested areas.
